MAKÜ Science Communication Coordination organized a meaningful event at Mehmet Uzal Social Sciences High School in memory of World Poetry Day on March 21 and the 53rd anniversary of Âşık Veysel's passing. In the program, both the literary aspect of the great bard and his educator identity that sheds light on society were discussed in detail by expert names. In the event where unforgettable works were performed accompanied by bağlama, it was emphasized that Âşık Veysel is not only a folk poet but also an important guide who carries our cultural values into the future.




Within the scope of the "Science Cafe" event organized by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Science Communication Coordination, an Âşık Veysel event was held with his saz, words, and educator aspect, due to March 21 being both World Poetry Day and the 53rd anniversary of the Turkish folk poet Âşık Veysel's passing. The event took place at the Mehmet Uzal Social Sciences High School Conference Hall.
In the program, one of the speakers, Specialist Teacher Mehmet Memiş Uludağ, explained Âşık Veysel's world of words and his place in folk literature. Burdur Makü Education Sciences Faculty Member Abdul Samet Demirkaya made evaluations on the poet's educator identity, drawing attention to the connection of his thoughts with today's educational understanding.
During the event, Music Teacher Armağan Çintaş performed Âşık Veysel's unforgettable works "Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım" and "Beni Hor Görme Kardeşim" accompanied by his bağlama. The performance was met with interest by the participants.
In the organized program, it was emphasized that Âşık Veysel was not only a folk poet but also an important educator conveying social values.
The program concluded with the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to the participants.
